Orthman Conveying Systems (OCS) started in 2003 in Lexington, NE as a bolt on company to Orthman Manufacturing Inc. (OMI).  In June of 2022 we moved the OCS division of OMI to Cleburne, Texas in doing so we restructured the company to be a standalone entity completely separated from OMI. We purchased the 20K square foot facility in Cleburne, TX. then added another 40K square feet for a total of 60K square feet. We designed the layout specifically for our three major product lines Screw Conveyors, Belt Conveyors, and Bucket Elevators in which we Engineer, Design and Manufacture.

This in combination with the technology we are deploying will catapult us into a very modern, lean, efficient, state of the art facility ready to compete with any major competitor. Our goal is to provide a high quality product on time while providing a great buying experience; we want to make it easy for our customers.

Why did you move? Our company is poised to take that next step in growth and we felt this was the best place to do that. One of the main reasons was simply the human capital, several of our competitors are here and have been for many years cultivating generations of experience in all phases from manufacturing, to sales, to Engineering etc., another reason is the supply chain here we have access to all the same materials and suppliers as our competitors which helps us compete from an apples to apples standpoint, the DFW area is also convenient for travelers that want to get in and out same day, you can catch a direct flight to anywhere in the country.

What is different now? This is essentially a new company starting with the Executive Management!

We have a new President with 25 years in Bulk Material Handling.

Our Head count has more than doubled in all areas.

Increased manufacturing capacity & capabilities we have added a 6K Laser, increased to 14 weld stations, now have a state-of-the-art dedicated paint system, our assembly area has twice the space. In addition we have also added 2 saws, added multiple press breaks, flight presses, and multiple jigs & fixtures.

Increased Sales Capacity – We have a new National Sales Manager, we have added a 3rd Regional Sales Manager, added four estimators.

Increased Engineering capacity – Since the move we have added a Planner, (2) Designers, and (2) Engineers to this group, they have all the latest and greatest software all our designers use 3-D Solid Modeling.

Dedicated facility – OCS now has a facility dedicated to manufacturing Bulk Material Handling products.

Supply Chain – Moving to the DFW Metroplex has given us a broader selection of suppliers in a very competitive arena who are familiar with our industry.

New Website – (Under Construction) We now have a dedicated website focused on Bulk Material Handling only.

New Tools – We have implemented a CRM program with mobile capabilities, we are working on a Configurator that is a 6-month project.

Lead Times Improvements – We have improved our lead times by 30% already in 6 short months, we hope to exceed our customers’ expectations on lead times and on time deliveries. We are members of trade associations such as PTDA, PTRA, CEMA, NARA, GEAPS just to name a few.

We are very excited about the move and restructuring of Orthman Conveying Systems.
