This Privacy Policy explains what information Orthman Conveying Systems, LLC (“Orthman,” “we,” “us”) collects through orthmanconveying.com (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The Site is a business-to-business site intended for use in the United States, including California, and Canada.
1. Information you give us
You can use the Site without telling us who you are. When you choose to submit a form, we collect what you enter. Our forms ask for:
- Contact requests (Get In Touch): name, company, email, phone, city, state, subject, message and the product you are asking about.
- Quote requests (conveying and manufacturing quotes): company, name, email, phone, business address and the product of interest.
- Equipment data sheets (belt conveyor, bucket elevator, screw conveyor worksheets): customer and contact name, address, email, phone, and the technical details of your application (material, capacity, dimensions, drive, options).
- Job applications: if you apply for a position by email, the information and résumé you send us.
Our quote forms also record, in hidden fields, how you arrived at the Site: the referring site or campaign (source, medium, campaign, term, content), the first page you landed on, any advertising click identifiers in the URL (such as a Google click ID), the date of your first visit, and the page where you submitted the form. We use this to understand which marketing brings us inquiries.
2. Information collected automatically
Server and security logs. Our hosting provider (WP Engine) and our network security provider (Cloudflare) record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time, and referring URL. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated bots; Turnstile evaluates browser signals to do so.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure how visitors use the Site: pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and the source of the visit. Google sets cookies to recognize a returning browser. Google’s use of this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Advertising measurement. Google Tag Manager also loads Google’s conversion linker, which stores advertising click identifiers in a first-party cookie so that a form submission can be attributed to a Google Ads click.
Attribution cookie. The Site sets its own cookie, orthman_attr, that remembers how you first arrived so that the quote forms can record it (see section 1). It holds no name or contact details and expires after 90 days.
Embedded content. Some pages embed videos hosted on YouTube or display Google customer reviews. Those services may collect data and set cookies when the content loads or plays, under their own privacy policies.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to respond to your inquiry and prepare quotations; engineer and manufacture equipment you order; communicate with you about your request and, where you have asked, about products and services; evaluate job applications; understand how the Site is used and which marketing is effective; keep the Site secure and prevent spam and abuse; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use the Site to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate the Site for us: WP Engine (hosting and database), Cloudflare (network security, bot protection), Mailgun (delivery of form notification emails to our staff), Automattic’s Akismet service (spam screening of form submissions, which involves sending the submission and your IP address to Akismet), and Google (analytics, tag management, advertising measurement). These providers may process data only to provide their service to us.
- Orthman’s affiliated companies and sales representatives, where needed to answer your request or serve your territory.
- Professional advisers, authorities and others when required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect rights, safety or property, or in connection with a sale, merger or reorganization of our business.
5. Retention
Form submissions are stored in the Site’s database and in the email inboxes of the staff who handle them. We keep them for as long as needed to respond to your request and for up to 3 years afterwards, unless a longer period is required for an order, a warranty, or by law. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s settings for our account. Log data is kept by our providers for a limited period for security purposes.
6. Your choices and rights
Forms. Providing information is voluntary. You can contact us by phone instead.
Cookies and tracking. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie and how to block or opt out of it, including Google Analytics.
Marketing email. Any marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to opt out.
Access, correction and deletion. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing sales@orthmanconveying.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law (45 days under Texas law, extendable once where reasonably necessary). If we decline a request, we will tell you why and how to appeal.
Residents of Texas, California and certain other states have rights under state privacy laws, including the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, access and obtain a copy of it, correct inaccuracies, delete it, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or profiling. We do not sell personal data or engage in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. The Site does not currently respond to browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control; you can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies as described in the Cookie Policy.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), managed hosting with regular backups, bot protection on forms, and limiting access to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be noted on the Site.
