Conveying Equipment

Shaftless Screw Conveyors

Engineered for the materials a typical screw conveyor can’t handle — sticky, stringy, sludgy, and hard-to-move bulk products.

Overview

Built for the materials a typical screw conveyor can’t handle

Orthman Shaftless Screw Conveyors are built for products that defeat a conventional shafted screw. The continuous-helix screw rides directly on a replaceable trough liner, which eliminates hanger bearing supports entirely — a common wear point and failure risk in standard conveyors.

Because the design removes the center pipe, there’s no place for wet, sticky material to build up or for stringy product to wrap and bind. The result is a fully enclosed, self-clearing conveyor with full product clean-out, built for continuous duty in demanding sludge, bio-solid, and bulk-handling applications.

Key Features

Strong, efficient, and built to run

Heavy-Duty Construction

Built to handle continuous duty with abrasive, high-load bulk materials without excess wear.

No Hanger Bearings

The continuous helix rides on the trough liner, removing a common wear and failure point found in shafted designs.

No Center Pipe

An open-core design prevents the product buildup that clogs and binds conventional shafted screws.

Full Product Clean-Out

The fully enclosed housing empties completely between runs, with no dead zones for material to collect.

Replaceable Trough Liner

Engineered to meet the demands of virtually any bulk material handling application, replaceable trough liners are available in a variety of premium wear materials, allowing each conveyor to be customized for maximum performance, durability, and operating life.

Custom Engineered

Every Orthman shaftless screw conveyor is engineered to meet the specific demands of the application, with customizable spirals, troughs, liners, drives, and discharge arrangements for optimum performance and reliability.
