SHAFTLESS SCREW CONVEYORS
The Orthman Shaftless Screw is engineered and designed to convey difficult to move products that would normally be a problem for a typical screw conveyor. This heavy duty screw is manufactured in one continuous helix which rides on the bottom of the housing on a replaceable liner eliminating the need for hanger bearing supports. By designing out the center pipe it eliminates the problem of a typical screw which provides a location for buildup of wet sticky products, and a location for stringy products to wrap around. It is often used to dewater or drain liquids using a perforated trough liner with drip pan, with every revolution the flighting clears the perforated holes of debris. Since the screw is not supported on the tail end it eliminates the need for a tail shaft, seal and bearing, it is totally enclosed.
Transforming Material Handling with Strong & Efficient Design
Orthman Shaftless Screw Conveyors, engineered with precision, offer an optimal solution for transporting difficult products where typical conveyors fail. These conveyors utilize a continuous helix, designed to ride seamlessly along the housing's bottom, eliminating the need for hanger bearing supports, a common feature in standard shafted screw conveyors.
The innovative design lacks a center pipe, preventing the accumulation of challenging materials and allowing full product clean-out, thus enhancing efficiency and longevity. The design is fully enclosed, removing the necessity for a tail shaft, seal, and bearing and facilitating smooth handling of various bulk materials, adapting to different lump sizes, and reducing maintenance needs.
